Floral Netting Top - M

This top is made from a lace curtain, circa 1940s-1960s. The ground fabric is a fine mesh and was embellished with floral embroidery and cutwork—a needlework technique in which patterns are cut from the fabric and the raw edges are reinforced with fine stitching. The top has a fluttery open back, secured with a hook-and-eye clasp at the neck. Hand-mending throughout.
