about the studio
The identity of the Bode studio and products is based on the interpretation and use of history to construct original consumer experiences. We are rooted in a collective understanding of creative contemporary design and authenticity.
Most of the pieces are one of a kind, cut from globally sourced antique fabrics. We use Victorian quilts from New England, grain sacks from the southeast, and 1920's bed linens from the south of France, to name a few. Other fabrics are hand-loomed and quilted in India, or are deadstock wovens from Japan and Italy. Each piece of clothing tells a story, and is tailor-made in New York.
Bode speaks to the consumer relationship to our social world and the love of found historical objects and techniques. For commissions, information on wholesale, and all other inquiries about the studio, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
