This overshirt shirt is made from an antique cutwork linen circa 1870s-1910s. The textile features thick handwoven “brides” (the connecting handmade strings) to hold the pattern in place. Grape bunches and leaves feature “couched embroidery“ techniques. This piece can be worn open as a jacket or by itself. Only two pieces made, and each are one of a kind.
